 Whirlpools

Whirlpools have become an affordable luxury for bathrooms.  Ranging in price from modest to pricey depending on the features and options, whirlpools offer a bathing experience designed to be either relaxing, invigorating, or therapeutic.

Air tubs are now a popular configuration; using heated bubbles rising from the bottom of the tub, air tubs create a more relaxing bathing experience than the more common jetted whirlpool.  Some manufacturers offer a combination of air systems with jetted systems so the homeowner can have the benefits of both. 

Beyond the more commonly available in-line heater and underwater mood lighting, jetted whirlpools offer the most options in terms of special features.  Features like rotating massage jets that  simulate the motion of a massage pressure, neck jets that offer relief to the upper shoulder region, or multiple back jets that can spray all over the back in a pre-programmed cycle.  One manufacturer even offers the option of a hand-held jet for the ultimate in positioning comfort.

Usually taller in height than standard tubs, whirlpools offer a more satisfying soak.  Whirlpools come in many different styles and shapes, from retrofit alcove rectangular tubs to oversized drop-in oval tubs suitable for two.  From the ubiquitous rectangle and oval shapes, there are also pentagonal corner tubs that maximize available floor space.
